Cornelis Omni-Path Fabric Software

The "Cornelis Omni-Path Fabric Software" repository provides the following software installation packages on Red Hat Enterprise Linux and SUSE Linux Enterprise Linux for a Cornelis Omni-Path fabric. First, the Cornelis Omni-Path Express (OPX) Basic Software. This is the basic installation package that installs the Cornelis Omni-Path Express Software components needed to set up compute, service and login nodes with drivers, PSM2 and MPI libraries, MPI testes and Open Fabric Interface (OFI) libfabric. Second, the Cornelis Omni-Path Express Suite (OPXS-Formerly IFS) Software. This installation package inludes the Cornelis Omni-Path Express (OPX) Basic Fabric Host Software package, along with the Omni-Path FastFabric toolset and the Omni-Path Fabric Suite Fabric Manager. The OPXS package is recommended to be installed on a head node or management node in an Omni-Path fabric based cluster.

Subscribe your system to the Intel_OPA repository

Note: The "add_repo.sh" script wont work with Intel_OPA repository.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux

Cut-n-paste the following section (substituting distribution, architecture and project version) into /etc/yum.repos.d/intel_opa.repo on your system:


        [intel_opa]

        baseurl=http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/intel_opa/pkg_type/rhel/dist_ver/arch/project_ver

        enabled=1

        gpgcheck=0

Where:

   pkg_type      basic, ifs
   dist_ver      RHEL 8.7, 9.1
   arch          x86_64
   project_ver   current

SUSE Linux Enterprise Server

Cut-n-paste the following section (substituting distribution, architecture and project version) into /etc/zypp/repos.d/intel_opa.repo on your system:

        name=Intel Omni-Path Fabric Software

        baseurl=http://downloads.linux.hpe.com/SDR/repo/intel_opa/pkg_type/suse/dist_ver/arch/project_ver

Where:

Important Notes while updating Cornelis Omni-path Fabric software (IFS)

Important: A performance degradation was observed during the validation of OPXS 10.12.1 host software with RHEL 9.x. This performance degradation, relative to prior RHEL OS releases, was observed on and limited to servers with AMD Milan and Rome CPUs.

Advisory: Performance Degradation with RedHat 9.0

Please review the advisory and exercise caution before upgrading to OPXS 10.12.1 host software on AMD Milan or Rome CPU-based servers installed with RHEL 9.x OS.

Cornelis Omni-Path Fabric software v10.14.1.1.3 is compatible with the following firmware versions only :

- Cornelis Omni-Path Express Switch Firmware (managed and externally-managed switches) version :10.8.x

- Cornelis Omnipath UEFI ROM version : 1.12.0

- Cornelis Omnipath TMM version : 10.11.2.0.2

NOTE : If above combination is not adhered to, then the OPA fabric may not function properly.
