Welcome to HP SUM

HP Smart Update Manager (HP SUM) is a technology for deploying firmware and software to servers, components, and their options. Using its GUI or command line interface, HP SUM will:

HP SUM deploys firmware and software smart components, which can be found in bundles or from the HP ftp site (ftp.hp.com).

NOTE: The only data saved between HP SUM sessions are the targets and the repositories. Repositories can be removed by deleting the directory %temp%/hp_sum. No user names and passwords are ever saved.

When using the online help, use the Next Topic arrow and Previous Topic buttons on the help pages to go to the next or previous topic in the help. You can also use the Back and Forward buttons to go to the last viewed page, or a page that you just viewed. HP SUM includes links at the bottom of many pages that link to the glossary, the table of contents, and a link to the PDF version of the user guide.
